ROAD TRIPS

Our road trips take you into the natural beauty of the area while challenging you with a local adventure. Hike and forage a local forest, shop for antiques in the many character stores in the region, wakeboard/kayak/paddleboard windmill lake, taste local beers, find secret spots for the best photos while getting tips, zipline the Elora Gorge and much more. We want you to truly enjoy your surroundings so our trips are flexible - incorporating time for an unplanned detour down a winding road or a few restful moments to breathe in the country air.

Olympian Julia shares St Marys Quarry. The swimming quarry was actor Christopher Plummer’s favourite swimming hole and is where we take a quick dip to cool off or perhaps a jump off the water trampoline. There will be time to stroll downtown and view some of the most notable buildings including the Opera House, the spired municipal Town Hall and the Public Library, all built in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s. Time: 30 minutes to get there, 1 hour at the quarry, 1 hour downtown and 30 minutes to get home. Total time: 3 hours.

Wakeboard and kayak with Noah. Most locals have no idea that there is a fully sized windmill within the area. They certainly don't have a clue that there is a lake and two canals that facilitate wakeboarding, kayaking and paddle boarding. A Dutchman came to Canada in the 1980s and built the windmill for flour and lumber and now it has become a recreation area complete with surf shop. Lessons can be arranged. Time: 50 minutes to get there, 1 hour for boarding, 1 hour downtown and 50 minutes to get home. Total time: 3 hours, 40 minutes.
